Another way to tart up a pair of your favourite sandals is to buy or make some silk flowers and attach one to each shoe by pinning or sewing. Be careful and safely attach, so you don't damage your shoes or yourself...  Helpful links below. :)

How To Remove Scuff Marks From Gloss Leather, Patent and Patent Leather Shoes

Shoes from my personal shoe collection:
Zoe Wittner patent leather hidden platform pump,
Mollini patent leather hidden platform pump,
Bella Moda patent leather hidden platform pump.

How to remove scuff marks from gloss leather and patent/patent leather shoes which are sealed  [...and by sealed I mean finished coated leather which is coated in paint and is waterproof], This will not work on suede or leather shoes that have a natural unsealed finish. These types of leather need special leather and suede waterproofing, and other treatments to remove marks, which I'll write about at another time.

You Will Need

  1. You will need a small bowl with 1/3 water
  2. A packet of Mr. Clean Magic Eraser or magic erasers. These erasers are made of  a porous melamine material. [Here in Australia I buy Chux Magic Eraser, which comes cut in small cubes and is ideal for removing marks from shoes, as you don't need a large amount. If you buy a larger block, just cut  5 cm square blocks for use. For those who don't know... they look like white sponge cubes and can be found in the cleaning product section of your grocery store. Usually, they will be near the kitchen cleaning items.
  3. One soft microfiber or cotton cloth for polishing/wiping shoes.

Directions

I suggest you wipe shoes over with a light moistened cloth to remove surface dirt and dust before you start. Don't saturate the cloth.

Remove one cube of magic eraser and dip end in water to moisten. Squeeze out any excess water. Now lightly rub over scuff makes and they will disappear. For harder to move spots please be careful not to rub too hard, as you will begin to remove patent or paint from shoe, which in turn will leave a dull or flat spot and you don't want that.
After you have removed the scuff marks from your shoes, wipe shoes over with soft cloth and treat them with your leather or patent treatment. Ta-dah! Good as new! :)

I have used this method on my glossy kid leather Chloé' Sixy' Pumps below and removed all the scuff marks from the toes, sides, and heels. The finish is fabulous! :)

and leather sole block heel pumps.
Note: This won't work for dye transfers on patent leather.

Helpful Tip: Always keep your patent leather separate from other shoes, as the dye will be absorbed by the patent and ruin your patent shoe by staining it!

Next time I will be writing about treating patent leather and gloss leather shoes naturally!

PS: This tutorial will NOT apply to suede or naturally stained 'unsealed' leather.

Thanks for visiting and please come again soon! :)
